Frankenstein Window Glitch
Acrylic and Photo Collage on Canvases, 2012. This painting is available at Kalá in Morganton, NC.
Frankenstein being an idea for a book that was recreated as a movie and this photo involving the interpretations of both the actor and the photographer describe a series of removal that relate to both Frankenstein's Monster as a recreated person, and to the creation of this image. This painting is derived from a film still that was uploaded onto google, which I recreated as a base 6 number system, and then interpreted and recreated through a system of hatches. It is a distortion process about a distortion process. The glitches and series of windows are another form of distortion that describe an increasingly complex network of information that parallels everyday life and social media websites.
